Last Friday morning I woke up thinking about the next Haugen Family reunion. We all got together in July 2006 in Coeur De Alene, Idaho for the first time in about 11 or 12 years. Actually the last time we had a reunion was near Calgary, Alberta Canada when both of my parents and Uncle Lyle were still alive.

That was a very special reunion indeed as the 2 last surviving brothers, Don & Lyle, had a great time reminiscing. As our blog site gets going, I will add some pictures from the 1995 Reunion.  We all had a great time at Kanaanaski’s Park with campfires and picnics and lots of gorgeous scenery near Banff.

Anyway, a week or so ago, Don (my brother) called to ask when we were having another reunion. I reminded him the family had voted last year and the consensus was to wait 5 years and hold it in Maine. I managed to volunteer for the coordination job. Bro says: Well Susan & I just came back from Medora, ND and we think that would be a swell location for a reunion next summer (2008). I said, okay, let me get the email list together and start surveying family interest.

I sent out an email and lo and behold several of the ladies have already answered me and think it sounds like a good idea. Then, being the PC freak I am, I decided we should establish a Haugen Family blog site so we can all stay in touch better with a place to post stuff and pictures.
